Automatic Trouble–Shooting and Online Weight Control

The automatic trouble-shooting features of Cipla’s new GKF 2500 ASB 100% provides the highest pharmaceutical safety in capsule filling operations, while automating production and reducing downtime.

The calibration strip in the empty capsule sorting magazine ensures that deformed or damaged capsules are removed and routed to a separate container even before they arrive at the filling station. During capsule closing, the capsule body scanner recognizes incomplete capsule portions.

The machine is equipped with a high-precision gravimetric online weight control system. It offers the possibility to control the weight of every single capsule individually and precisely. The machine also includes an automatic filling weight adjustment feature which is based on communication between the checkweigher and the dosing station. The analysis software calculates an average filling weight from the checkweigher results and compares this average with the theoretical filling weight. Only those capsules whose weight is within the pre-set tolerances are accepted. All other underweight or overweight capsules are rejected automatically.
