Of the many FFKM types available in the market place, there is no single perfluoroelastomer that is solely capable of meeting all of the requirements of every manufacturing process or environment. An individual tailored and balanced solution is generally required for effective handling of each medium in any particular environment. This is where Dyneons polymerization expertise and capability is indispensible.

Dyneon offers a diverse range of perfluoroelastomers based upon various polymer and curative technologies to meet the specific requirements of different industries. These products include 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer PFE 90Z, a peroxide curable FFKM, 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer PFE 7301BZ Heatshield, a high-temperature, triazine cure material with superior temperature resistance (continuous at 316 °C), the new 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer E-21464 Heatshield (also continuous at 316 °C) and 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer PFE 7502BZ Chemshield, a grade with all round superior chemical and thermal resistance (continuous at 275 °C).

Dyneon has developed Chemshield specifically to improve uptime and the mean time between replacements in sealing solutions. The outstanding compression set resistance and physical properties are ideally suited for use with solvents, acids, bases, amines, water and steam. It is USP VI-compliant, a specific requirement for the Pharmaceutical Industry. The polymer combines the superior chemical resistance, associated with peroxide-curable FFKM type materials, with high temperature durability. It is suitable for processes with continuous operating temperatures of up to 275 °C.

Dyneon remains committed to supporting the demands of the perfluorelastomer-market and has recently opened a new manufacturing facility for the polymer at their Antwerp facility in Belgium. The new plant features a production line dedicated solely to the manufacture of small lots of high-grade FFKM, and it features a state-of-the-art mill, chilled storage and dedicated packaging operations.
