Germany: Engineering Thermoplastic Celanese to Create World’s Largest Pom Manufacturing Plant
The company’s current Pom production unit at the IPH facility in Frankfurt will be expanded to meet the demand of its global engineered materials business. Once completed, the project is expected to be the biggest Pom manufacturing plant across the globe.

Frankfurt/Germany – Celanese Corporation, a global specialty materials company, has recently announced a capital efficient debottlenecking project of its polyoxymethylene (Pom) production unit at the Industriepark Höchst (IPH) facility in Frankfurt, Germany to support the continued growth of its global engineered materials business.
Celanese expects to expand the production capacity of its IPH unit by 20 kilo tonnes, making it the world’s largest and most efficient Pom plant.
Celanese Corporation states that the debottlenecking of the firm’s IPH Pom unit further demonstrates not only its ability to respond to global customer demand, but also the knowledge and expertise of its engineering talent that enables these world-class projects and expansions.

Celanese expects to complete the Pom debottlenecking project at the IPH facility in the next 18-24 months. Financial details of the project are not being disclosed at this time.
