Heroplas – a joint venture between Sitraplas and KRS Kunststoff Recycling & Service – specializes in the manufacture of thermoplastic polymers (e. g. Polypropylene), Thermoplastic elastomeres (TPE), Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV), and their polymer blends in small batches. The company has now outfitted their production facility with two of Coperions ZSK Twin Extruders – both the ZSK 26 Mc and the ZSK 45 Mc.
Efficient solutions
Heroplas manufactures their polyolefins in small and minute quantities. Thus, specialized applications are needed in order to produce economically. According to Coperion, both the ZSK 26 Mc and 45 Mc offer all the required functions zo meet customers' demands. Both extruders can be combined with underwater and strand pelletizing in wet and dry cut. Due to their modular construction, configuration for a variety of different process variations is possible.
The two extruders also provide numerous quick-change features to ensure efficient operation. According to the company, these quick-change features are supposed to shorten the setup times for recipe changes and therefore reduce downtimes.
With all process parameters being constant across the ZSK series, recipes can be transferred easily from laboratory systems to the larger extruder. This leads to additional flexibility in processing orders.
