PROCESS: What steps does NAMUR plan to take now to convince the firms involved to change their approach?

Schwibach: We will be publishing NE133 shortly which will clearly demand convergence to reach a single standard. This NE will not only be a NAMUR document, but rather a paper drafted in cooperation with WIB. We have also found numerous official supporters for this document. These include ZVEI, ExxonMobile, Shell, members of ISA100.12 and the Hart Foundation (HCF). In addition, well-known manufacturers such as Emerson, Endress&Hauser, Honeywell, Invensys, Pepperl&Fuchs, Siemens and Yokogawa are at present already official supporters of NE133. If now the representatives of the different camps failing to come to a consensus and proving incapable of defining a clear roadmap together for a single standard, this would be a clear — albeit negative — signal to us users of the importance with which the manufacturers really regard our requirements.

Dr. Morr, Mr. Schwibach, thank you very much for this interview.
