As part of its internationalization strategy, Vogel Communications Group (VCG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China Media Group Europe (CMG). CMG is, among other things, the parent company of Chinese state television with around 50 CCTV channels. PROCESS has also been successfully publishing cross-media content in and for the Chinese market for 26 years.

Würzburg/Germany – From VCG's perspective, the aim of the MOU is a collaboration that has yet to be defined in order to make VCG better known as a B2B communications partner and bridge builder for both markets (China and DACH/Europe). This partnership is intended to serve as a platform to make Vogel better known as a B2B communications partner in China. CMG, on the other hand, wants to promote China as an attractive production and investment location and support this with journalist trips to China.

For Vogel, it is important to increase its own awareness in China and to build credibility and trust with local Chinese companies. This could also help VCG and its joint venture company Beijing Jigong Vogel Media Advertising (JVMA for short) as part of the "China goes West" project to be able to specifically support local Chinese companies in their "going abroad" (for example into the German or European market) with a wide range of services and tasks.

CMG cultural event in Munich with participation from politics and business

Around one hundred participants took part in the CMG cultural event at the Westin Hotel in Munich to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the "comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Germany" and to sign the MOU as part of the program. The celebrations were attended by high-profile guests, including the deputy director of the CMG, Xing Bo, and representatives of the Chinese embassy and the Bavarian State Ministry as well as numerous institutions and organizations. In addition to Dr. Gunther Schunk as the official VCG representative and signatory, Jiaqi Zhu (Monika) as well as Nils Horstmann and Wendy Li-Teichert (both Eviom) also took part in the event. Several media outlets have already reported on the event.

30 years of market experience in China

VCG has had an extensive cross-media B2B portfolio in China for almost 30 years with Beijing Jigong Vogel Media Advertising and its specialist media such as MM MaschinenMarkt-, Automobil Industrie-, PROCESS-, PharmaTEC- and LABORPRAXIS-China. PROCESS China has a print circulation of 20,000 copies with 12 issues per year (6 issues of PROCESS and 6 issues of PharmaTEC). Digitally, the brand has a total of 274,861 followers on WeChat (of which 163,393 for PROCESS and 111,468 for PharmaTEC) and organizes over twenty online and offline events every year.

For more than two years, these offerings have been supplemented by digital agency services from our participation in the primarily internationally oriented agency eviom (based in Munich and Hong Kong). The collaboration with CMG is intended to further promote and support the existing business models and partnerships with JVMA and eviom.
