Valmet has started up its new Pretreatment BioTrac pilot facility at its Fiber Technology Center in Sundsvall, Sweden. The company intends to strengthen its R&D capabilities in the biomass pretreatment segment and also support new market demands for bioenergy, biofuels, and biochemicals with the establishment of the new unit.
RE Energy has plans to revive the operations at its acquired old biorefinery in Denmark. For this purpose, the company has appointed Valmet to rebuild the plant’s pretreatment system. Once the facility begins stable operations, it is expected to produce 2G bioethanol, lignin, and new innovative ingredients.
Valmet will be supplying the energy management systems to Kemira Chemicals’ Finland-based bleaching chemical plants in Äetsä and Joutseno. The delivery includes a Valmet DNA Energy Management System along with a DNA Information Management System.
