Angola: Memorandum of Understanding Uralchem to Build Fertilizer Production Complex in Africa
Within the framework of the Russia – Africa Economic forum, Uralchem and Grupo Opaia signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU provides for the creation of a joint ammonia and urea production complex.

Moscow/Russia — Uralchem announced an investment of $ 1.2 to $ 1.3 billion in the production of fertilizers in Angola. As part of the project, the Russian group plans to attract bank financing. The launch of the complex is planned in 2023. Under the contract signed with Grupo Opaia, the company will be responsible for all issues related to the design, construction and promotion of the products. Grupo Opaia will be responsible for approval of permission documentation, gas supply and site finding.
The planned production capacity of the complex is 1.2 million tons of urea. For the construction of the plant the engineering company schedules 4 to 5 years.
