Engineering consultant Uhde India has successfully commissioned a 152 tpd-membrane cell caustic soda conversion project owned by Jayshree Chemicals in Ganjam, Orissa.

Ganjam, India – The contract to expand the 70 tpd mercury cell plant was awarded to Uhde India in 2009. The newly commissioned facilities uses the latest fifth generation membrane cells based on the company’s energy-efficient membrane cell technology which is at work in over 70% of the membrane cell plants in India.

The scope of the agreement covers basic and detailed engineering, supervision services for both the site and the cell assembly, project management services as well as commissioning and doing the performance test run.
