If single measurement readings have to be transmitted over longer distances, the proprietary Trusted Wireless system by Phoenix Contact is perfect for replacing cable-based systems. The technology has proven itself in over ten years of various infrastructure applications, and it is also built on a self-healing mesh network.
Trusted Wireless works in the license-free 2.4 GHz frequency and is also available in a 900 MHz version for the North American market. Version 2.0 no longer requires the configuration of wireless participants via a software tool. Devices from the Radioline product family can be set up without tools by means of a thumbwheel that is located on the device housing.
Easy Integration
Trusted Wireless transmitters are not connected by adapters directly to the network in contrast to Wireless Hart; instead, they are conventionally wired to a terminal box in which I/O modules from the Radioline product family in the IP20 protection class are located. Trusted Wireless can be combined with a solar panel and batteries to create completely independent installations. Phoenix Contact also offers diverse solutions to easily integrate field devices by wireless systems, even for older control systems.
