Founded in 1986, Biodue is a manufacturing company focused on research, development, production and m arketing of cosmetics, medical devices, and food supplements, both liquid and solid. Biodue partnered with MG2 to develop a project to fill dual chamber caps with powder for the subsidiary Farcoderma. The company talks about how the MG2 technology can adapt to the different criticalities imposed by the great variety of powders and formulations processed in their production. At the firm’s factories G28/T allows it to handle the high number of powders and formulations produced daily without any issues.

The flexibility of the G28/T has made it possible to handle different products on the same machine, with different filling weights and different chemical-physical characteristics. Thanks to its two G28/T, Biobue produces at least one hundred references with two different types of dual chamber caps, mentions the company.

It is a variety of solutions that reflect the continuous market demands on which the firm concludes that the market for biphasic vials is one of Biodue Group's main businesses and it is still expanding. Having high-performance and reliable machines is therefore not only necessary but it is also one of the most significant challenges the firm faces every time it wants to choose a new machine.

The solution

G28/T is an automatic high-speed continuous-motion dosing and assembly machine, which allows the combination of up to two kinds of powders into the same cap/container. G28/T is highly utilized in the dosage of powder in dual chamber sealing caps for oral reconstituted drugs in vials. On this type of production lines, the product must not be compacted to allow better melting in the liquid. The MG2 patented continuous rotary motion dosing technology enables the entire process to be managed with excellent results. G28/T has been therefore a commercial success for several decades, widely consolidated and reliable, the synthesis of the skills that MG2 has acquired thanks to thousands of capsule fillers installed all over the world.

It is a machine with scalable production speed: the customer can start with a machine working at 14,000 caps/hour. Then, according to increasing market demand, it is possible to double the speed to 28,000 caps/hour by adding only a few parts, adds the firm. Scalability is an essential feature and one of the advantages of all MG2 processing machines, since it allows you to double or in some cases even quadruple production with the same machine, in the same production clean room, without increasing the number of operators, with the same production recipe, by maintaining unchanged performances.

A successful dosing & assembly machine model

After little more than one year after the first installation, Biodue has acquired a second machine to meet the needs of increasing production. The flexibility of G28/T, a key feature of all MG2 machines, has allowed Biodue to choose among a wide range of caps, to adapt reactively to market requests. This is an industry which is showing significant growth trends, particularly in the Asian markets.

MG2 solution was therefore the choice for both flexibility in terms of production speed and for adaptability to the different types of dual chamber caps closure system, as well as for the continuous motion dosator technology: a "gentle" dosing principle that does not compact the powder, thus allowing an optimal product mixing when, activating the cap, the powder and the liquid come into contact, concludes the firm.
