Preventing Conatmination
Robolux multi-port valves are available in sizes up to DN 50, making them ideal for use in processes with relatively large pipe diameters and flowrates. Since each multi-port valve replaces two conventional valves and the T-piece between them, this technology can provide valuable space savings in larger pipe sizes.
An optional relief valve fitted between the two seats provides double-block-and-bleed functionality to prevent steam used for sterilization from contaminating the product and vice versa. Parallel operation is possible with the use of a Robolux DFP (Double Flow Path) interface which increases overall availability of the plant and saves production time.
Also for Sterile Applications
In fermentation, multi-port valves ensure a reliable sterile barrier: a solution using two actuators and two diaphragms provides the function of a steam barrier with four connections and four seats, replacing four conventional valves with individual actuators, plus the corresponding piping and connecting elements. In this way, Robolux multi-port valves contribute significantly to cost reduction in hygienic processes.
Bürkert supports its customers in the design and implementation of the fluid parts of their processes. Experienced hygienic processing experts design the valves and manifolds required based on individual customer requirements. Up to five Robolux valves can be mounted on one block. In designing the system, the experts take into account factors such as flow direction and flow paths, mounting angles, requirements for self-draining, and overall geometric specifications relating to maximum dimensions and the position of connections. This is possible only in very close cooperation with the customer.
The sales engineers at Bürkert Fluid Control Systems do more than just select and deliver the required valves. They cooperate with each customer first to determine how to optimize the process and then to design the valve solutions so that they fit perfectly. kem
