Shanghai/China – The HCl recovery system, developed by SGL Group for the specific needs of the customer, supports the economical and environmentally friendly process of MDI/TDI production. MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) and TDI (toluene-2,4-diisocyanate) are starting materials that are mainly used for the production of polyurethane. The recovery of HCl gas succeeds under high pressure from HCl acid.

In particular, the local engineering and production location of the SGL Group in Shanghai has enabled the company to meet the requirements of the Chinese customer. SGL Group's system technology uses a process design with heat recovery to minimize energy consumption. The complete system consists of columns and heat exchangers as well as piping and fittings made of the materials Diabon Graphit and Polyfluro PTFE.
