Topsoe’s Demo Plant Begins Operations for Sustainable Methanol Production

Haldor Topsoe’s demo plant will utilize its electrified steam methane reforming technology (eSMR) for producing sustainable methanol from biogas at a competitive cost as compared to other non-fossil fuels. Located at Aarhus University’s research facility in Foulum, Denmark, the unit is expected to have an annual capacity of 10,000l of CO2-neutral methanol from biogas.

Dow, Haldor Topsoe Team Up to Convert Waste Plastics into Circular Polyethylene

Under the terms of the agreement, Dow will design and engineer a new 10,000 ton per year market development unit at its Terneuzen site in the Netherlands. The development unit will make use of Haldor Topsoe’s PureStep technology to purify pyrolysis oil feedstock from waste plastics and advance the technology for industrial-scale purification of circular feedstocks to develop circular plastics.

Incitec Pivot, Fortescue Future to Conduct Study for Green Ammonia Production

Incitec Pivot and Fortescue Future Industries have collaborated to undertake a feasibility study for producing green hydrogen on an industrial-scale at the company’s existing Gibson Island fertilizer manufacturing facility in Australia. The new project aims to produce around 50,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually which will then be converted into green ammonia for Australian and export markets.

Jacobs Gets Owner’s Engineer Contract for Power Plant in the Philippines

Jacobs Engineering Group announced that it was selected by Therma Visayas (TVI), a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation, for the role of owner’s engineer for the construction of a new 2 x 150 Megawatt electric (MWe) circulating fluidized bed (CFB) coal-fired power plant in Barangay Bato, Toledo City, Philippines.Company officials did not disclose the contract value. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2017.
