Borealis is testing a feedstock derived from vegetable-based waste streams at its cracker in Stenungsund, Sweden. The test will determine the extent to which the renewably-sourced feedstock can be used as a replacement for fossil fuel-based feedstocks.

Natural gas can travel through thousands of miles of pipeline. In order to avoid pressure reductions and the resulting slowdowns caused by distance, friction, and elevation, natural gas must be pressurised. Compressors placed at key intervals keep the natural gas moving evenly and reliably. These compressors are generally grouped in stations, which are strategically located along the pipeline networks that transport and store the gas.

Air Liquide has teamed up with Total Energies to develop low-carbon hydrogen production in the Normandy industrial basin in France. A large-scale CO2 capture and storage solution (CCS) will also be implemented at the site.

The company looks to add market share outside of China.

BASF plans to sell major parts of its fertilizers activities. This comprises production plants in Antwerp/Belgium and BASF’s 50 percent share of the joint venture PECRhin in Ottmarsheim/France.

Looking beyond the established plunger-type pumps in general use for polymer injection, the company turned to an alternative.

German company Thyssenkrupp has received another major order for the cement plant business of its Industrial Solutions business area. The value of the contract awarded by Société des Ciments de Sigus, part of Groupe Industriel des Ciments d’Algérie (GICA), is in the mid three-digit million euro range.

Haiwan Chemical has awarded a technology contract and license agreement to KVT for the world´s largest Glycerine based Epichlorohydrin production complex. Scheduled to be built in Qingdao, China, KVT will license its Epiprovit closed loop technology to the facility.

With an aim to meet the growing demand for industrial gases in the region, Linde has decided to increase production capacity at its air separation plant in Mims, Florida, USA by 50 %. The project is expected to be complete by 2023.
