Initial groundwork has commenced on the site of the Sino-Oman Industrial City, reports Oman Daily Observer. The project with estimated costs of $ 10.7 billion will be built at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Duqm on the Sultanate’s Wusta coast.

With a capacity of producing 75,000 tonnes per year, the new plant will be making use of renewable and non-GMO sugarcane from Thailand to produce a range of Luminy PLA resins.

Exxon Mobil announced the US$ 19 billion PNG LNG project has started producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Papua New Guinea ahead of schedule. Work on the second train is progressing and LNG production from this unit is expected to start in the next several weeks.
