Neste and Air Canada have expanded their partnership and Neste will now be supplying an additional 7,500 tons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Air Canada which will be used to power the airline’s flights from the San Francisco International Airport.

Under the terms of the partnership, Solvay will acquire a Ginkgo laboratory in Massachusetts, USA which will help the company to expand its R&I footprint in the country and also accelerate the development of new sustainable biopolymers.

Plug Power has set a new record by producing 122 MW of PEM electrolyzer stacks in Q1 2023, an industry first at its 2.5 GW gigafactory in New York, USA. Moving further, the company intends to expand its factory to produce 100 MW per month in mid-Q2 2023.

Asahi Kasei, Microwave Chemical have plans to conduct a joint demonstration project for chemical recycling of Polyamide 66 using the microwave technology. With this project, the firms aim to depolymerize PA66 and directly obtain the HMD and ADA monomers at high yields and a low energy consumption.

The European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) has recently issued a statement on the publication of the European Commissions’ Net-Zero Industry Act. The Council is not satisfied with the Act and is calling for a comprehensive industrial policy.

Evonik has plans to invest in a pilot electrolyzer at its Herne site in Germany. The project aims to produce green hydrogen as a starting product for isophorone diamine. This new electrolysis technology will also be researched by Siemens for industrial usage.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, Thyssenkrupp Uhde and Idesa Industrial Plants Slu (Idip) will work together to develop and fabricate new modular plants for green ammonia projects. Thyssenkrupp Uhde’s ammonia technology will be used for the modular solutions.

Saudi Aramco and Linde Engineering have plans to develop a new ammonia cracking technology which is expected to create new commercial opportunities for them within the global lower-carbon energy supply chain. A demo plant will also be established in Germany to showcase the technology.
