Ineos Olefins & Polymer Europe has entered into a renewable power agreement with Skagerak Energitjenester under which the firm will supply 100 % green energy to Ineos’ Rafnes and Bamble plants in Norway.

Under the terms of the contract, Total Energies will produce biomethane at its Bio Béarn biomethane plant and supply it to Saint-Gobain France. The firm’s sustainable biomethane is certified by ISCC and will assist Saint-Gobain to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions in France.

Honeywell has introduced its latest technology – UOP efining technology which can be used for producing low-carbon sustainable aviation fuel. The technology claims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 88 % as compared to conventional jet fuels.

Versalis is in the final stages of acquiring Novamont, a company specializing in chemicals from renewable business. With this move, the company aims to strengthen its business portfolio.

Solvay has plans to establish a multipurpose microbiology lab at its Lyon site in France. Once the lab is operational, the company aims to increase its biodegradability and toxicity testing capabilities and also develop more environmentally-friendly and safe products for the end consumer.

Under a joint development agreement between LG Chem and Gevo, both the firms will work together to develop a technology that produces 100 % bio-propylene from renewable sources of carbohydrates such as corn.

Federated Co-Operatives Ltd (FCL) has entered into a license agreement with Fluor under which the company will use Fluor’s proprietary Economine FG Plus carbon capture technology for its renewable diesel complex in Canada.

Neste has plans to begin the basic engineering phase for its 120 MW electrolyzer project which will produce green hydrogen at its Porvoo refinery in Finland. The company is also undertaking a preliminary study with Porvoon Energia for the utilization of renewable heat in district heating.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, Airbus and Lanzajet will work together to develop sustainable aviation fuel facilities that will make use of Lanzajet’s Alcohol-to-Jet technology to produce SAF.

KBR and ISU Chemical have teamed up to design and develop a commercial scale lithium sulfide unit for next generation battery technology which is expected to help the industry move towards more efficient utilization of renewable energy.
