OMV Petrom has plans to make the hefty investment at its Petrobrazi refinery in Romania with an aim to become the first major producer of sustainable fuels in Southeast Europe.

Named Frigg, the project is expected to become Everfuel’s first large-scale production facility dedicated to hydrogen supply via pipeline to industrial customers in Germany.

BASF has introduced its biomass balanced ecoflex, a polybutylene adipate terephthalate that is frequently used in the compounding of biopolymers. The new ecoflex F Blend C1200 BMB has a 60 % lower Product Carbon Footprint than the standard ecoflex grade.

Dow has plans to take over the North American plastic recycling company Circulus. The acquisition will include two facilities, one in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and another in Arab, Alabama, with a total capacity of 50,000 metric tons per year.

Abraxas Power Corporation has selected Mc Dermott for Canada's first commercial green hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Central Newfoundland. The facility is expected to produce 165 kta of hydrogen and 5000 metric tons per day of ammonia.

Under an agreement signed between Air Liquide and Exxonmobil, Air Liquide will develop and operate four large modular air separation units for Exxonmobil’s planned low-carbon hydrogen project in Baytown, Texas, USA. With this project, Air Liquide will offer low-carbon oxygen and nitrogen to Exxonmobil.

The alliance comprises of Topsoe, ABB and Fluor which will collaborate to develop a standardized concept for building Topsoe’s next SOEC electrolyzer factory in the USA. The project is expected to be operational by 2028.

BP has secured full ownership of Bunge Bioenergia joint venture after acquiring Bunge’s 50 % holding interest in the joint venture. The company is also refocusing its plans to develop new biofuels projects at its existing sites.

Cepsa has plans to invest 75-million-euros to develop Spain’s first isopropyl alcohol plant which will be used to produce hydroalcoholic gels. The plant will make use of green hydrogen and will replace fossil-based raw materials in the production of isopropyl alcohol with sustainable alternatives.

Under a 15-year agreement signed between Air Products and Total Energies, Air Products will supply 70,000 tons of green hydrogen annually to Total Energies’ refineries in Europe from 2030.
