Although there are many industrial projects that have made headlines for decarbonizing their operations but we take a look at three upcoming mega projects that can be considered as landmark projects of recent times.

It is a global industry effort dedicated to speeding up climate action and achieving high-scale impact across the oil and gas sector. The Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter has recently published its first report to baseline, prioritize and track progress on emissions reductions.

Yara and Atome have entered into Heads of Terms which covers the long-term supply of all of the renewable Calcium Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer from Atome’s production facility in Villeta, Paraguay. Yara will market and sell this renewable fertilizer as part of the Yarabela product line.

Lummus and Braskem will carry out joint studies for the industrial demonstration of Lummus' SRT-etm electric cracking heater. With this move, the companies aim to decarbonize one of Braskem's sites in Brazil.

Linde has plans to de-captivate two air separation units as well as expand its existing supply of industrial gases to Tata Steel in Odisha, India. Both the ASUs are currently under construction and Linde will supply oxygen, nitrogen and argon to Tata Steel under a long-term agreement.

BASF’s ammonia Bmbcert grade offers a significantly reduced product carbon footprint as compared to the standard product. Evonik has received a first shipment of ammonia Bmbcert and aims to incorporate it into its ISCC Plus certified production processes in order to cut down on its emissions.

Under a new long-term contract between Air Liquide and LG Chem, Air Liquide has plans to invest around 150 million dollars at its Tennessee site in the U.S. with an aim to expand its production capacity and pipeline network. In line with the contract, Air Liquide will supply oxygen to LG Chem for its electric vehicle battery plant.
