BASF’s Coatings Division has appointed Patrick Zheng Yu Zhao to take charge of the new Global Automotive OEM Coatings Solutions business unit in Hong Kong. With this project, the consortium is demonstrating that chemical recycling can process hard-to-recycle waste plastic into high-quality polymer products.

With the partnership, both the companies aim to optimize the production of bacterial cellulose and produce bio-based materials which act as the perfect green substitute for synthetic polymers used in the market today such as acrylates, polyethylene, and polystyrene.
