Uniper has entered into a cooperation agreement with Oman’s strategic green hydrogen project Hyport Duqm to provide engineering services and explore an exclusive offtake agreement of green ammonia. The project’s first phase involves the development of a 250 to 500 MW green hydrogen facility at Duqm, Oman.

Claimed to be the largest potassium-fluoride-based plant for halogen exchange (Halex) reactions in the Western world, the Weylchem Group will construct the new facility at its Allessa site in Frankfurt-Fechenheim, Germany.

Linde has started up its new liquid hydrogen plant in La Porte, Texas, USA which is the company’s fifth unit in the country. The facility is expected to supply over 30 tons per day of high-purity liquid hydrogen to meet the rising demand.

Global Energy has partnered with Proman to set up the ‘Cromarty Clean Fuels Project,’ a renewable power to methanol plant at the Nigg Oil Terminal in Scotland. The new facility is expected to use local sources of captured CO2 for the production and it will also store as well as load green methanol to be exported on bulk carrier vessels.

Eastman has partnered with Hydrogenious LOHC to make the storage and transportation of hydrogen more secure, easier and affordable. The LOHC specialty product which ensures safe and easy logistics and storage of hydrogen is produced at Eastman's site in Marl, Germany.

The Japanese company Itochu will use blue ammonia to produce fertilizers. Fertiglobe, a joint venture firm between OCI and Adnoc, produces blue ammonia at its Fertil plant in the Ruwais Industrial Complex in Abu Dhabi, UAE and the cargo is the first to be sold from the UAE to a Japanese customer.
