Under a MOU signed between Shell and RWE Generation, both the companies will work together to advance projects that focus on production, use and distribution of green hydrogen. Apart from this, they will also look at other sustainable options such as CCS and blue hydrogen to decarbonise RWE’s gas and biomass-fired power plants in northwest Europe.

Euro Chlor, the association of chloralkali plant operators in Europe, has launched its latest 10-year Sustainability Program which comprises of nine new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These KPIs focus on developing a climate neutral and circular European chlor-alkali industry by 2050.

Indian Oil Corporation’s 10 TPD bio-ethanol project will be based on the company’s own technology developed by its R&D team and Nuberg EPC will be responsible for the establishment of the bio-ethanol plant project in Panipat, Haryana. The project will produce ethanol for fuel blending, a move that is in line with the Government of India’s Ethanol Blending Fuel vision.

Orlen Południe has started up the green propylene glycol production unit at its biorefinery complex in Trzebinia, Poland. The unit has a capacity of 30,000 tons a year and the complex will also include Poland’s first hydrogen hub.

Honeywell has partnered with ZoneFlow Reactor Technologies to commercialize the ZoneFlow Reactor Technology, an innovative structured catalyst module used for the production of hydrogen. Claimed to be a revolutionary technology for steam methane reforming, it is capable of producing low-carbon hydrogen more efficiently and is also cost effective.

Haskel’s Hydrogen Systems has entered into a long-term agreement with Hiringa to supply hydrogen refuelling stations across New Zealand for the heavy transport industry. The first four high-capacity refuelling stations have already been ordered for phase one of the nationwide green hydrogen network.

With an aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its facilities and prepare for a lower-carbon future, ExxonMobil will be investing the hefty amount over the next six years in its sustainable and green initiatives. The company will also work towards developing technologies which can be used in carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and biofuels production.

With the completion of the demonstration of the world’s highest-current water electrolyzer, Hydrogen Optimized has advanced its large-scale green hydrogen technology – the Ruggedcell unipolar electrolyzer. The 22-million-dollar Ruggedcell high-current electrolyzer development program was launched by Hydrogen Optimized with an aim to develop the world’s largest green hydrogen production systems.

Under a MOU signed between Haldor Topsoe and Hyundai Oilbank, the two companies will work together to explore opportunities within blue and green hydrogen, waste plastic recycling, bio-refinery, eFuels, CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and storage) and other solutions to reduce carbon emissions.
