KBR’s clean ammonia platform aims to meet the future demand for sustainable energy and fertilizers. The move has been undertaken by the firm as the global demand for clean ammonia is expected to increase significantly in the future.

Siemens made its presence felt at the Achema 2022 trade fair through the show’s Green Innovation Zone and Digital Hub. The company focussed on the topics of chemical recycling and hydrogen at the event.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has recently commissioned a new green hydrogen plant at its AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat. Expected to produce 45 kg of green hydrogen daily, the facility’s first phase comprising 380 kW alkaline electrolyzer has been installed, while the PEM electrolyzer along with solar plant capacity augmentation will be installed in the future.

Perstorp is working on an innovative project which will assist the company to make use of wastewater from a nearby municipal treatment plant for its production operations in Stenungsund, Sweden. The project is expected to save 1.1 billion liters of fresh water annually.

Mc Dermott along with its storage business, CB&I has been awarded a Front-End Engineering Design (Feed) contract by Gunvor Petroleum for developing a green hydrogen import terminal project in the Netherlands.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, Shell and Siemens will develop energy efficient and sustainable solutions for Shell’s and its customers green hydrogen projects. Shell will also supply Siemens and its affiliates with low carbon products that reduce emissions across its supply chain.

Neste has launched a strategic study to transition its Porvoo refinery in Finland into a renewable and circular solutions site. The move is expected to discontinue the refining of crude oil at the site by the mid-2030s. The company is also exploring opportunities for green hydrogen at its refinery.

Air Liquide has sold its Industrial Merchant Business in Saudi Arabia to Abdullah Hashim Industrial Gases & Equipment. With this deal, the company plans to focus on large industries and emerging new opportunities in clean hydrogen and energy transition in the GCC region especially Saudi Arabia.

Ørsted has plans to develop Europe’s largest green fuel production facility for the shipping industry – Flagship One in Sweden. The company has also selected Topsoe for carrying out Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication for the project’s e-methanol technology.

Nextchem has secured a Pre-Feed engineering services contract by Madoquapower2X to develop and operate an integrated renewable hydrogen and green ammonia plant in Portugal. The project is expected to have an initial capacity of 500 MW for electrolyzer and up to 500kt/y of green ammonia, thus reducing CO2 emissions by up to 600,000 t/y.
