Fluor has won an engineering, procurement and construction management services contract for the world's first renewable hydrogen-based integrated ‘green steel’ mill in Boden, Sweden. The unit is expected to produce five million tonnes of steel annually by 2030, with up to 95 % less CO2 emissions as compared to conventional methods.

With an aim to accelerate its transition into a hydrogen economy, Baker Hughes has successfully achieved several milestones to support its ambitious goal. This includes the launch of a new hydrogen testing facility in Italy for validation of its Nova LT industrial turbines to run blends all the way up to 100 % hydrogen.

Lhyfe has already held a groundbreaking ceremony for developing a green hydrogen plant in Germany. The unit is expected to produce up to 1,150 tonnes of green hydrogen per year by using renewable energy such as wind and solar.
