Aiming to reduce carbon emissions, Sabic and Linde Engineering have teamed up to decarbonize the SD Ethylene Glycol Process. Sabic is committed to carbon neutrality by 2050, in line with Paris Agreement goals, through various pathways including carbon capture and utilization.

John Cockerill Hydrogen has entered the US market by announcing the development of a new Gigafactory in Baytown, USA. The facility is expected to produce 1 GW per year of electrolyzers and strengthen the production of hydrogen in the region.

For the first-time, AGC has used hydrogen as a fuel in a demonstration test for glass production. The test was carried out at the electronics float glass manufacturing facility of the Kansai Plant, Takasago Factory in Japan.

A pilot plant for cost-efficient production of green methanol was recently inaugurated at the chemical park in Leuna, Germany by the Minister for Transport Dr. Volker Wissing. The plant is part of the ‘Leuna100’ project and aims to offer climate-friendly fuels to container shipping and aviation industries.

Under a joint development agreement, Aramco and Enowa are aiming to develop a first-of-its-kind synthetic electro fuel e-fuel demonstration plant. The unit is expected to demonstrate technical feasibility and commercial viability by producing 35 barrels per day of low-carbon, synthetic gasoline from renewable-based hydrogen and captured CO2.

Aker Carbon Capture has been awarded a feasibility study for an e-fuel project in Finland. The company plans to integrate its standardized and modularized carbon capture units into the e-fuel process at a waste-to-energy facility.

Johnson Matthey and BP have entered into a licensing and engineering agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Johnson Matthey’s LCH technology will be used at BP’s blue hydrogen facility in H2Teesside.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, KBR and ISU Chemical will work together to develop a commercial ammonia cracking project in the Republic of Korea. The project will make use of KBR’s H2Act ammonia cracking technology.

Under the terms of the long-term agreements signed between Indianoil and Linde’s entities in India, Linde’s entities will develop new on-site facilities to supply hydrogen, nitrogen and compressed dry air to Indianoil’s Panipat refinery in North India.
