The Port of Antwerp is partnering with six firms to construct a Power-to-Methanol demonstration plant in Belgium. This project is vital for the country’s transition to alternative sources of energy and is expected to have an annual production capacity of 8,000 tonnes of sustainable methanol.

Dr. Samir J. Serhan joined Air Products in 2016 as executive vice president and since then his role was continuously expanded to meet the requirements of different businesses. With his new appointment, he will be in-charge of full profit and loss responsibility for the Americas business.

The two industrial giants Air Products and Haldor Topsoe have signed a global Alliance Agreement. Air Liquide has entered into long-term contracts with its large Industrial Merchant customers. Under the agreement, the company will supply on-site industrial gases including nitrogen, oxygen or hydrogen to these customers for at least 10 years.

Air Products has acquired five steam methane reformer hydrogen production plants in the US from PBF Energy. The acquired units offer a combined production capacity of almost 300 million standard cubic feet per day.

Linde has started up its new air separation plants in order to supply 720 tonnes of high purity nitrogen per day to Shanghai Ever Display Optronics (EDO) for its Amoled project. In accordance with the contract, the firm will also supply other industrial gases such as oxygen, helium, argon and hydrogen to EDO.

The new facility aims to supply methane, hydrogen and carbon dioxide to Evonik’s world-scale methionine complex in Singapore. Equipped with Linde's advanced technologies, the plant enables to increase plant efficiency, reliability and environmental sustainability.

Fast Company has awarded Heliogen with the ‘World Changing Ideas’ award for its technology that is capable of replacing fossil fuels with sunlight. The technology also boasts of commercially bringing carbon-free, ultra-high temperature heat to traditionally carbon-intensive industries for the first time.

The deal is in line with Singapore Government’s Long-Term Low-Emissions Development Strategy to halve emissions by 2050. Chiyoda has proposed its hydrogen storage and transportation technology for the ambitious plan.
