Air Products has entered into an agreement with Gulf Coast Ammonia (GCA) under which the US firm will build, own and operate a steam methane reformer to produce hydrogen, an air separation unit to supply nitrogen; and will own and operate a steam turbine generator to supply power to GCA’s new ammonia production facility.

The Danish Energy Agency has approved a 6.7 million-dollar grant for the Hysynergy project which intends to construct a massive electrolysis-based hydrogen production facility at the Shell refinery in Denmark.

With the incorporation of Haldor Topsoe’s technology, the new methanol facility in Russia is expected to produce 1.6 million tonnes of АА grade methanol annually. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2023.

Located in Ruwais-Abu Dhabi, the new Borouge 4 complex is expected to include the world’s largest mixed-feed cracker. Under the agreement, Axens will supply process books, catalysts & adsorbents, proprietary equipment, trainings and technical services for the project.

The mega project is expected to include a 1.2 MMt/y ethylene unit; pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation; aromatics extraction; and production facilities for butadiene, high-density PE, low-density PE, PE plastomers and elastomers, PP, and other derivatives, reports Chemical Week.

Haldor Topsoe and Sasol have signed a collaboration agreement under which both the firms will continue to supply their core technologies and also offer Topsoe’s hydroprocessing and hydrogen technologies. The move will enable customers to get access to a single-point licensing offering for proven gas to liquid solutions.

The ‘Hygreen Provence’ project will be developed via this deal which aims to produce, store and distribute green hydrogen. The project will make it possible to produce 1,300 GWh of solar electricity and renewable hydrogen on an industrial scale.

Air Liquide and Sinopec have signed a MOU to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen mobility solutions in China. Under the deal, both the companies will study the development of hydrogen mobility network in the Asian country.

A newly introduced reactor has the capability to combine all three separate reactors used in the current process for producing ammonia into one. The fresh innovation can also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by half which makes it a ‘must have’ in today’s times.
