A new report by the World Economic Forum mentions that global investments in clean fuels will need to quadruple by 2030 in order to meet global clean fuel ambitions. It further suggests that global clean fuel investments could rise from ~25 billion dollars today to over 100 billion dollars annually by 2030.

Under a framework agreement signed between Uniper and Thyssenkrupp Uhde, Uniper has secured license packages for the use of Thyssenkrupp Uhde’s ammonia cracking technology. The agreement covers up to six large-scale plants with a total capacity of 7,200 metric tons of ammonia per day.

With a whooping investment of 4+ billion euros, Project One—Europe’s most sustainable cracker—is the largest investment in the region’s chemical sector in the past 2 decades. The project is expected to produce 1.5 million tonnes of ethylene annually and will have a carbon footprint of less than half of the 10 % best-performing steam crackers in Europe!

Topsoe’s ammonia loop technology, proprietary catalysts and equipment have been chosen for Synergen Green Energy’s ammonia project in the U.S..Once operational, the project is expected to produce 210,000 metric tons of ammonia annually.
