Promisces to Support Europe’s ‘Zero Pollution’ and ‘Circular Economy’ Strategy

Promisces, an European project aims at preventing the circulation of polluting organic compounds in the environment by developing new technological solutions in order to support Europe’s ‘zero pollution’ and ‘circular economy’ strategy. A 14-million-dollar contract has been signed between the project partners and the European Commission, thus making Promisces an active part of the European Green Deal.

TNO, Dechema, Vito Establish Platform to Boost Industrial Carbon-Neutrality in Europe

A MOU has been signed by the applied research institutes TNO, Dechema and Vito to set up a public-private platform on industrial carbon-neutrality which will assist the transition to industrial carbon-neutrality in the trilateral region (The Netherlands-Germany-Belgium). The platform aims to develop international collaboration between stakeholders from industry, governments, regulators, infrastructure asset owners and operators to achieve the objective.

Revolutionary Microfluidic Process

How the desktop chemical plant can transform the semiconductor and biomedical industries

There’s a new innovative and revolutionary microfluidic system which allows the mixing and extracting operations to be carried out using a mini glass chip which was otherwise conventionally performed with large-scale equipment. This microfluidic process boasts of combining numerous microfluidic chips simultaneously, thus, creating a ‘desktop chemical plant.’ Now, NTHU and Daicel have plans to integrate this microfluidic system into the chemical manufacturing industry.

Japan: Green Innovation Funding Program

Siemens Energy, Toray to Develop PEM Electrolyzer Technologies

Siemens Energy and Toray will jointly promote the development of the largest multi megawatt class PEM electrolysis in Japan under the Green Innovation Funding Program arranged by the Japanese Government. Toray’s new membrane technology will be used in the process. The companies aim to advance the technologies used in the production of green hydrogen by making use of renewable energy sources.

University of Bayreuth Develops Low-Cost Electrolyzers for Green Hydrogen

The University of Bayreuth under its H₂ Giga project focuses on the research, development, and industrial production of high-performance, low-cost electrolyzers to meet Germany's demand for green hydrogen. One of the seven H₂ Giga projects called ‘HTs: HTEL Stacks – Ready for Gigawatt’ has received funding of more than 11,00,000 dollars. Chair of Ceramic Materials Engineering at the University of Bayreuth is responsible for this collaborative project.

Under the three agreements signed between BP, Adnoc and Masdar, the companies jointly aim to develop low carbon hydrogen hubs and decarbonized air corridors between the UK and UAE. BP and Adnoc also have plans to continue decarbonizing existing oil and gas operations by using methane detection, CCUS and pioneering digital technologies.
