China’s Wanhua Chemical Group has selected DWE, a subsidiary of Man Energy Solutions to deliver three salt-operated reactors for its new maleic-anhydride plant which produces PBAT (PolyButylene Adipate Terephthalate), a core material used for the production of biodegradable plastics.

Equinor and SSE Thermal have plans to develop a world-leading hydrogen storage facility in Yorkshire, UK. The collaboration is claimed to be UK’s first end-to-end low-carbon hydrogen proposal connecting production, storage and demand projects in the North of England.

The Japanese company Itochu will use blue ammonia to produce fertilizers. Fertiglobe, a joint venture firm between OCI and Adnoc, produces blue ammonia at its Fertil plant in the Ruwais Industrial Complex in Abu Dhabi, UAE and the cargo is the first to be sold from the UAE to a Japanese customer.

With an aim to expand its alkenyl succinic anhydride sizing agent (ASA) production capacity for the paper and packaging board industry, Kemira has invested in a new production line in China. This is the third production line at the company’s Nanjing site in the Jiangsu province.

EDP, Technip FMC along with a few research institutes have plans to develop a conceptual engineering and economic feasibility study for a new offshore system for green hydrogen production from offshore wind power. The Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide (EO/PO) pipelines will distribute feedstock to various business tenants in PlasChem Park, an industrial park in Jubail, Saudi Arabia to produce diversified specialty chemical products.

Siemens has plans to build a 8.75 MW carbon-free hydrogen generation plant in Wunsiedel, Germany. The groundbreaking ceremony of this project was attended by the Bavarian Minister-President Dr. Markus Söder. The plant is expected to produce up to 1,350 tons of hydrogen per year using only renewable energy.
