Venture Global LNG has entered into two long term sales and purchase agreements with Sinopec for supplying 4 million tons per annum of LNG from its Plaquemines LNG export facility in the USA. A subsidiary of Sinopec will also purchase 3.5 million tons of LNG from the company’s Calcasieu Pass LNG unit. The deal is claimed to be the largest single LNG supply deal ever signed by a US company.

Sabic has plans to invest a whopping 1.37 billion dollars at the Teesside facility in the UK in order to decarbonize the plant. The investment includes strengthening the operations at the facility and enabling its chemical cracker transformation, thus leading to the development of one of the world’s lowest carbon-emitting crackers.

Under an Agreement of Intent, Maire Tecnimont and Rosneft have agreed to build a new VGO (Vacuum Gas Oil) hydrocracking complex at Ryazan's refinery in Russia. The project is expected to convert heavy petroleum products into Class 5 light commercial petroleum product, thus increasing Ryazan’s refining margins.

A consortium consisting of Yara International, Jera, and Idemitsu Kosan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the establishment of a domestic clean ammonia distribution network and bunkering business, accelerating Japan’s green energy transition.

DSM has introduced Bovaer, a feed additive for cows which reduces enteric methane emission by approximately 30 % for ruminants. With the potential to become a gamechanger for the world’s net zero ambitions, the company has plans to develop a new facility at its existing site in Dalry, Scotland to scale up its Bovaer production in the coming years.

With an aim to meet the growing demand of performance chemical products in China, Exxon Mobil has decided to go ahead and build a multi-billion-dollar chemical complex in the Dayawan Petrochemical Industrial Park in Huizhou, Guangdong Province in China. The complex which is expected to produce performance polymers includes a flexible feed steam cracker, three performance polyethylene lines, and two differentiated performance polypropylene lines.

Under a strategic partnership signed between Adnoc and Borealis, both the companies have entered into a 6.2-billion-dollar investment agreement to expand its existing Borouge facility by building a fourth Borouge facility (Borouge 4) at the polyolefin manufacturing complex in Ruwais, UAE. The new unit is expected to produce 1.4 million tons of polyethylene per annum, thus taking the company’s annual polyolefin production to 6.4 million tons and making Borouge the world’s largest single-site polyolefin facility.

Linde has started up its new hydrogen facility in Texas, USA to meet the growing demand of hydrogen in the region. The company has also entered into a long-term agreement with Phillips 66 to supply the hydrogen produced at the new plant to Phillips 66’s Sweeny Refinery in Old Ocean, Texas.
