Since January 2020, Chinese pharma companies have entered into four deals with siRNA players to develop innovative siRNA-based therapeutics in the background of its huge potential in the pharma industry as well to enhance their pipeline portfolios. This includes Hansoh Pharma’s strategic alliance with Silence Therapeutics which is claimed to be the third biggest siRNA-based strategic alliance globally in terms of the deal's overall value (16 million dollars) since Jan 2020.

Carbon Recycling International and Johnson Matthey (JM) have signed a long-term exclusive catalyst supply agreement under which JM will supply its Katalco (TM) methanol catalysts to CRI’s Emissions-To-Liquids (ETL)-based methanol plants in order to produce sustainable methanol from CO2.

Maire Tecnimont’s subsidiaries NextChem, MET Development and Stamicarbon have decided to join forces with Greenfield Nitrogen to establish the first green ammonia plant in the USA. NextChem will conduct a feasibility study for the project, MET Development will support the development of the plant whereas Stamicarbon will offer its latest green ammonia technology to the unit. The new facility is expected to produce 240 metric tons of green ammonia per day.

Plug Power has plans to build a mega green hydrogen production facility in Fresno County, USA. On completion, the unit is expected to produce 30 metric tons of liquid green hydrogen per day. The move will help to decarbonize light-duty vehicles, freight-transportation, and logistics operations.

JGC Holdings and Cosmo Oil Company have chosen Honeywell’s Ecofining technology for converting used cooking oil into renewable jet fuel. The project is claimed to be the first commercial scale sustainable aviation fuel project in Japan.

Evonik has plans to expand its plasticizer portfolio by adding new plasticizer products—oxo alcohol INA and INA-based plasticizers Vestinol 9 and Elatur CH respectively—next year. The new products will be produced at the company’s largest site in Marl, Germany. The move is in line with the company’s strategy of expanding its business with innovative plasticizers of the new generation.

HDF Energy has started the construction of the world’s first baseload renewable energy power plant using hydrogen technology – CEOG in French Guiana. The CEOG Renewstable power plant is expected to supply 100 % renewable, stable and dispatchable power to households without emitting any polluting emissions. Meridiam and Sara are the equity partners for the project.

Chevron has updated its climate change resilience report in which it reveals that it has adopted a 2050 net zero aspiration for equity upstream Scope 1 and 2 emissions. The report also provides details on the firm’s new 2028 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity target for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

Teijin Aramid has recently announced that it has successfully achieved yarn-to-yarn recycling for its Twaron fiber by using feedstocks from end-of-life materials. The move is a milestone for the company as this will help the firm to develop and supply fully circular high-performance fiber. Now, Teijin Aramid has teamed up with FibreMax and Hampidjan to demonstrate the performance of this circular fiber in demanding real-life applications.
