Solvay to Power its Soda Ash Plant with Renewable Energy

In line with company’s ‘Solvay One Planet’ strategy, the firm has plans to phase out the use of coal at its soda ash facility in Rheinberg, Germany. For this purpose, the company has commissioned its maiden biomass boiler and intends to develop a second biomass boiler, which will make Rheinberg the first soda ash plant in the world to be powered primarily by renewable energy.
