Nuberg EPC has bagged a contract from the Indian Government’s enterprise Fertilisers And Chemicals Travancore for developing a brown field 1650 TPD NPK plant on EPC-LSTK basis in Kochi, Kerala. The project is expected to increase the total production capacity to 3,650 TPD of complex fertilizer.

Under a MOU signed between Haldor Topsoe and Acron, both the companies will work together to develop technologies focussed on reducing greenhouse gas emissions at Acron’s existing production sites and developing potential projects for new green products.

Halliburton has launched a new chemical reaction plant in Saudi Arabia which is claimed to be the first of its kind in the country. Situated at the PlasChem Park in Jubail, the plant manufactures a broad range of chemicals for the oil and gas value chain as well as other diverse industries.

Under a long-term agreement signed between Linde and BASF, Linde will build and operate a new hydrogen production facility at Chalampé, France in order to supply hydrogen and steam to BASF’s new hexamethylenediamine manufacturing facility in the country.

Celanese will be taking over more than 80 % of DuPont’s Mobility & Materials business including its Engineering Polymers business line and select product lines within the Performance Resins and Advanced Solutions business lines. The deal compliments Celanese’s business and will help speed up the company’s growth in future mobility, connectivity and medical.

Under the terms of the new expanded contract, Linde will supply carbon dioxide captured in its carbon monoxide production facility in Clear Lake, Texas, USA to Celanese’s manufacturing facility in the same area. Celanese will make use of this carbon dioxide and hydrogen to produce low-carbon methanol.

Solvay and Veolia have partnered together to develop an industrial energy transition project called ‘Dombasle Énergie’ in France. The project aims to replace coal with refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for the production of clean energy which will be supplied to Solvay’s soda ash plant in France. The project will help to reduce the site’s CO2 emissions by 50 %.

Yara has plans to decarbonize the food chain by developing fossil free fertilizers or green fertilizers which are produced with ammonia based on renewable energy. The green fertilizers will be marketed by Lantmännen in Sweden by 2023. With this move, the companies aim to develop the world’s first fossil free food chain.

Evonik has plans to construct a new methyl mercaptan plant at its Mobile site in Alabama, USA. With this move, the company aims to strengthen its world-scale methionine production hub in the country.

With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the British multinational oil and gas major BP has plans to quit its 20 % share in Russia’s state-owned company Rosneft. BP chief executive officer Bernard Looney as well as former BP group chief executive Bob Dudley have also resigned from the board of Rosneft with immediate effect.
