Under an agreement signed between Adnoc and Proman, both the companies will develop UAE’s first methanol production facility at the Ta’ziz Industrial Chemicals Zone in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. The facility is expected to be one of the most energy efficient and low-emitting plants in the world.

Under a long-term agreement signed between Linde and BASF, Linde will build and operate a new hydrogen production facility at Chalampé, France in order to supply hydrogen and steam to BASF’s new hexamethylenediamine manufacturing facility in the country.

Celanese will be taking over more than 80 % of DuPont’s Mobility & Materials business including its Engineering Polymers business line and select product lines within the Performance Resins and Advanced Solutions business lines. Under the terms of the new expanded contract, Linde will supply carbon dioxide captured in its carbon monoxide production facility in Clear Lake, Texas, USA to Celanese’s manufacturing facility in the same area. Celanese will make use of this carbon dioxide and hydrogen to produce low-carbon methanol.

Yara has plans to decarbonize the food chain by developing fossil free fertilizers or green fertilizers which are produced with ammonia based on renewable energy. The green fertilizers will be marketed by Lantmännen in Sweden by 2023. With this move, the companies aim to develop the world’s first fossil free food chain.
