Under the terms of the agreement, Johnson Matthey will supply its ammonia cracking technology and catalyst for converting clean ammonia into nitrogen and hydrogen. The clean hydrogen will then be used to power turbines, which are vital components of hydrogen-fuelled power plants.

Sulzer Chemtech’s advanced separation technologies will be used for European Energy’s mega e-methanol plant in Denmark. Expected to produce 32’000 metric tonnes of carbon neutral fuels annually, the plant will help to decarbonize the heavy transportation sector.

Thyssenkrupp Uhde has been selected as a technology provider for the new blue ammonia facility in USA. The new project will make use of the carbon capture and sequestration processes to produce blue ammonia which has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by more than 60 % as compared to conventional ammonia.

Under a long-term agreement signed between both the parties, Air Liquide will develop a new hydrogen production unit at the Grandpuits site in France. This unit will partly use biogas from Total Energies’ Grandpuits biorefinery and make use of Air Liquide’s carbon capture technology to produce renewable, low-carbon hydrogen which will be used by the biorefinery to produce sustainable aviation fuel.
