A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held by Covestro to develop a new world-scale Aniline Production Facility in Antwerp, Belgium. The project is expected to strengthen the company’s European production network for MDI.

Adnoc Refining is expected to complete the first phase of its Waste Heat Recovery project at the General Utilities Plant in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The 600-million-dollar project will recycle waste heat generated from the plant, thus increasing power production and thermal efficiency of the facility by around 30 % with no additional emissions.

Under an agreement signed between both the parties, Neste will supply more than 1,000,000 tons of sustainable aviation fuel to the Air France-KLM airline over a period of eight years. Claimed to be one of the largest SAF agreements of its kind in the aviation industry, the sustainable fuel is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 % as compared to the traditional fossil jet fuel.

Air Liquide has plans to develop three new plants for supplying ultra-high purity industrial gases to two of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers. The plants are expected to produce a total of up to 2 billion Nm3 per year of ultra-pure nitrogen, oxygen as well as argon and will be operational by 2024.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, Lyondell Basell and Shakti Plastic Industries will develop a fully-automated, mechanical recycling plant in India which is expected to produce 50.000 tonnes of recycled polyethylene and polypropylene annually.
