Encina and BASF have entered into a long-term supply agreement for chemically recycled circular benzene derived from post-consumer end-of-life plastics. BASF will use the chemically recycled benzene for its broad Ccycled product portfolio.

BASF’s ammonia Bmbcert grade offers a significantly reduced product carbon footprint as compared to the standard product. Evonik has received a first shipment of ammonia Bmbcert and aims to incorporate it into its ISCC Plus certified production processes in order to cut down on its emissions.

Under an agreement signed between BASF and Domo Chemicals, BASF has the right to acquire Domo Chemicals’ stake of 49 % in the Alsachimie joint venture of which BASF holds 51 %.

With an aim to provide innovative solutions in the biopharma and pharmaceutical ingredients industries, BASF has launched a new Good Manufacturing Practice Solution Center, in Wyandotte, Michigan, USA.

Solvay’s Linne Herten plant in the Netherlands has chosen BASF as the primary supplier of aluminum chloride. The sourcing of aluminum chloride from India to BASF in Germany is expected to reduce the carbon footprint associated with this raw material by over 50 %.

Under a MOU signed between Enerflex and BASF, both the firms will work together to facilitate the commercial scale deployment of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) applications. For this, the parties will combine Enerflex’s expertise in engineering, manufacturing, and integration of gas processing and compression systems with BASF’s proprietary Oase blue technology for flue gas and post-combustion CO2 capture.

BASF has commenced commercial operations at its Black Mass plant in Schwarzheide, Germany for the purpose of battery recycling. The project is one of the biggest commercial Black Mass plants in Europe and has an annual processing capacity of up to 15,000 tons of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and production scrap.

BASF and Yunnan Yuntianhua have successfully registered greenhouse gas emissions reductions from the use of Yuntianhua’s stabilized urea fertilizer which contains BASF's urease inhibitor Limus. The pilot project led to the reduction of over 46,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions.
