BASF’s Surface Treatment Business – Chemetall has inaugurated its new Global Aluminum Competence Center in Giussano, Italy. The center is expected to strengthen the firm’s position as a global supplier of solutions for the surface treatment of aluminum substrates.

The Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI) published its latest report ‘Case Studies Based on Peer-reviewed Life Cycle Assessments – Carbon Footprints of Different Renewable Carbon-based Chemicals and Materials’. The report revealed that renewable carbon-based materials exhibited significant lower CO2 footprint than its fossil counterparts.

Messer has selected Sulzer’s mass transfer technologies to assist an innovative carbon capture and utilization process at its Landeck plant in Austria. The unit will make use of Sulzer Chemtech’s carbon capture technology to capture more than 50,000 tons of CO2 per year.
