Piller Blowers & Compressors and GIG Karasek will combine their expertise for an innovative BASF project at the Ludwigshafen site in Germany. The project will feature the world’s most powerful heat pump system.

BASF Coatings has increased its production capacity for polyester and polyurethane resin at its Caojing plant in Shanghai, China with an aim to meet the growing demand for automotives in the Asia Pacific region.

BASF has appointed Heather Remley, who is currently President, Global Engineering Services, Ludwigshafen, as the President & CEO of BASF Corporation in Florham Park, New Jersey with effect from April 1, 2025.

Cellasto has plans to establish its second plant in Shanghai, China for a whooping investment of 60 million euros. The new facility is expected to feature advanced mold lines which will lead to a capacity increase of nearly 70 %.

Silke Wischeropp has been appointed as President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and will assume responsibility for the Division Corporate Legal, Compliance & Insurance, Ludwigshafen from June 1, 2025.

With the new plant, BASF India aims to increase the production capacity of microcellular polyurethane. Located in Dahej, India, the plant is expected to be operational in the second half of 2026.

With a mid-double-digit million-euro investment, BASF has plans to develop a new alcoholates plant at its site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. On completion, the project is expected to produce sodium methylate and potassium methylate.

BASF has plans to sell its Styrodur business to Bachl which is claimed to be one of the leading manufacturers of insulation materials in Germany, an experienced XPS producer and a long-standing Styrodur distribution partner of BASF.

The Global Impact Coalition which includes members from leading industry leaders have recently launched the world’s first Automotive Plastics Circularity pilot. The initiative is expected to revolutionize the automotive plastics recycling segment.

With a high double-digit million-euro figure investment, BASF has inaugurated its new catalyst development and solids processing center in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The new center will be used by BASF to develop and optimize innovative process technologies and catalysis processes.
