Lallemand's subsidiaries, Danstar Ferment and Lallemand Specialties have acquired BASF’s bioenergy enzymes business which is based in San Diego, California, USA. With this move, BASF will continue to focus on its enzyme activities in the animal feed and detergents markets.

BASF has plans to increase the production capacity of its Ultramid polyamide (PA) and Ultradur polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) compounding plant in Panoli, Gujarat and Thane, Maharashtra, India. The firm will also be inaugurating its Polyurethane Technical Development Center India on May 28 in Mumbai.

BASF uses certified biowaste raw materials to replace fossil resources at the beginning of the production process. Also, the firm makes use of electricity from renewable sources for the manufacturing of the ammonia and urea products, further reducing their production-related emissions.

BASF has plans to expand its advanced additives plant at its Nanjing site in China. The expansion will include a production line, for high-performance Controlled Free Radical Polymerization dispersants, with state-of-the-art production processes.

Under an agreement between BASF and International Process Plants (IPP), IPP will market ammonia, methanol and melamine plants which are located at BASF’s Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

BASF has plans to expand its e-coat manufacturing facility in Mangalore, India. With this project, the company aims to manufacture the latest generation of e-coat products which offer lower consumption, increased efficiency, and higher reactivity for electric vehicles.

BASF has commenced operations of its prototype metal refinery for battery recycling in Schwarzheide, Germany. The plant aims to optimize innovative battery recycling technology as well as optimize the processing of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and battery production scrap.
