Under a MOU signed between Chandra Asri and Indonesia Investment Authority, both the firms will jointly develop a world-scale chlor-alkali plant in Indonesia. The new project is expected to produce more than 400,000 metric tons per annum of caustic soda and 500,000 metric tons per annum of ethylene dichloride.

Under a joint venture, LG Chem and Huayou Cobalt will develop a new battery precursor plant in Korea. The new unit is expected to have a 50,000-ton annual production capability by 2026 and later on as new facilities are added, it will double its annual precursor production to 100,000 tons.
