Yokogawa Electric has taken over the German-based company Insilico Biotechnology with an aim to develop total bioprocess solutions that support biopharmaceutical development and production. BASF’S new project organization ‘Net Zero Accelerator’ aims to accelerate its cross-company activities in the fields of low-CO2 technologies, circular economy and renewable energies in order to reduce its CO2 emissions by 25 % by 2030 and become climate neutral by 2050. The new unit will be led by Dr. Lars Kissau who will report directly to the CEO and make sure that the emission reduction projects are implemented over the next few years.

Under the virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA), the Nextera Energy Resources subsidiary will develop the new wind project ‘Appaloosa Run Wind’ in Texas, USA and will deliver the equivalent of 135 MWs of new wind power capacity annually. The move is in line with Dupont’s Acting on Climate goal of reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 30 % and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Hyundai Motor Group, LG Energy Solution have signed a MOU with the Indonesian Government to set up a joint venture in order to produce battery cells for battery electric vehicles in Indonesia. In this background, the companies will establish a new battery cell plant in Karawang, Indonesia.

Orlen Unipetrol has revealed its development strategy until 2030 which includes the modernization of its chemical facility in Záluží near Litvínov, Czech Republic. In this project, the current boiler plant for the steam cracker’s operations is replaced with a brand-new gas boiler plant and the latest equipment for emission reduction installed at the unit has helped to lower dust emissions by 50 % and NOx emissions by 70 %.

Chevron, Itochu Corporation, Hyzon Motors and Ascent Hydrogen Fund have invested 20-million-dollars in Raven SR. Raven SR’s technology is capable of producing hydrogen fuel compliant with SAE J2719 (the international specification of hydrogen fuel cells) and high-quality synthetic fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Under a Power Purchase Agreement signed between Total Energies and Air Liquide, Total Energies will supply 50 GWh per year of renewable electricity to Air Liquide which will then divert this energy to power its industrial as well as medical gas production sites in Belgium.
