Solvay has secured 100 % ownership in its rare earths joint venture firm by acquiring the remaining shares from Santoku Corporation. The move is expected to strengthen the company’s global ambitions of leveraging its industrial and technical capabilities in Rare Earths chemistry for mobility, connectivity and electrification.

The consortium comprising Air Liquide, Chevron Corporation, Lyondell Basell, and Uniper will conduct a joint study to evaluate the development of a hydrogen and ammonia production facility along the U.S. Gulf Coast. If established, the unit is expected to support industrial decarbonization and mobility applications in the region as well as expand ammonia exports.

A consortium of six companies comprising Bechtel, GE, GM, Honeywell, Invenergy and Johnson Controls have launched a cross-sector business alliance – Corporate Coalition for Innovation & Technology toward Net Zero with an aim to assist countries meet their decarbonization and climate change goals.

To support the development and demonstration of this project, JGC Japan will focus on the Cryo-Capture technology which makes use of unused LNG cold energy in CO2 capture from factory exhaust gas.

Fluor has secured a front-end engineering as well as a detailed design, engineering and procurement services contract to establish a new renewable diesel unit for Imperial’s major renewable diesel complex at its Strathcona refinery in Alberta, Canada. Expected to produce approximately 20,000 barrels of renewable diesel daily, the project is expected to be the largest renewable diesel production facility in Canada.
