Air Liquide has plans to modernize two of its Air Separation Units (ASUs) in the Tianjin industrial basin, in China. With this move, the company aims at reducing the carbon footprint of its oxygen production units.

Evonik has started-up a new production plant for gas separation membranes in Austria. With a hefty investment of double-digit million-euros, the plant aims to meet the firm’s goal of increasing its sustainable Next Generation Solutions.

Under a MOU signed between Chandra Asri and Indonesia Investment Authority, both the firms will jointly develop a world-scale chlor-alkali plant in Indonesia. The new project is expected to produce more than 400,000 metric tons per annum of caustic soda and 500,000 metric tons per annum of ethylene dichloride.

Ineos Olefins Belgium has plans to develop the most sustainable cracker project in Europe – Project One. Expected to have the lowest carbon footprint of all European crackers, the project will be located in Antwerp, Belgium.

GEA has plans to equip two additional lithium hydroxide production lines from Albemarle with centrifuge packages. Lithium hydroxide is used as a starting material for the production of batteries for electric vehicles. The centrifuges will be installed at the company’s Kemerton lithium hydroxide processing plant in Western Australia.
