Clariant’s Envicat N2O-S nitrous abatement catalyst has been installed at Sichuan Lutianhua's nitric acid plant and is expected to reduce annual emissions by 275 kilotons of CO2eq. Sichuan Lutianhua received a free load of Envicat N2O-S catalyst for nitrous oxide abatement as it was a winner of Clariant’s Climate Campaign.

In the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium, Solvay has launched climate and water projects at its Paulínia site in Brazil. The investment is expected to reduce the site’s GHG emissions by 40 % and water input by 10 % annually as compared to 2021 levels.

Clariant’s Megamax catalyst has been selected for China’s biomass gasification-to-green methanol project. The project is expected to use a combination of farm waste and wind power to produce up to 250,000 tons per annum of green methanol.

GR3N has developed ‘Made’, the Microwave Assisted Depolymerization solution which breaks down PET into its chemical building blocks in order to create new PET pellets with virgin-like quality for packaging and textiles. Schneider Electric's open automation technology was used to demonstrate the solution and help it to scale from proof of concept to an industrial level.

One of the winners of Clariant’s Climate Campaign is Hengli Petrochemical and the firm was offered a free load of Clariant’s Envicat N2O-S catalyst for nitrous oxide abatement. Envicat N2O-S is claimed to be a drop-in solution that is capable of removing up to 95% of N2O from the off-gas of nitric acid production plants.

North Huajin Refining and Petrochemical Company has selected Solvay’s hydrogen peroxide technology for its new Panjin facility in China which is expected to produce 300 kilotons of propylene oxide per year.
