Renew ELP has plans to develop a new plastics recycling plant based on the ground-breaking advanced recycling process – HydroPRS (Hydrothermal Plastic Recycling System) in Teesside, UK. For this, the company has selected Emerson’s advanced automation technology and software to ensure safe and efficient operation of the unique plastics recycling process.

Technip Energies and Siemens Energy announced an exclusive agreement to jointly develop, commercialize, and license the Rotating Olefins Cracker technology to decarbonize olefin production processes. The ROC technology employs a dynamic reactor system that replaces conventional furnaces used for pyrolysis when manufacturing light olefins — the building blocks for chemical products used in everyday materials, from packaging to polymers.

Decarbonizing basic chemicals — 4.6 million dollars in funding from the Dutch government will allow Dow, Shell and two new partners to push forward on their previous plans to develop steam crackers heated by electricity, for CO2-free production of ethylene.

The new project is part of Ineos’ recent 2 billion dollar plus green hydrogen investment announcement in Europe. Under the new project, Ineos’ subsidiary Inovyn will develop a 100 MW electrolyzer at its Koln site in Germany in order to produce green hydrogen which will be used to manufacture green ammonia. The project will also develop E-Fuels through Power-to-Methanol applications at an industrial scale at the site.

KPX Chemical and Huntsman’s new joint venture – KHPUA will develop and supply advanced polyurethane system solutions to Korean automakers in order to meet their superior acoustics and light-weighting requirements. KPX Chemical will make use of its polyol technology and combine it with Huntsman's expertise to develop high performance, MDI-based automotive solutions.

JGC Holdings and Cosmo Oil Company have chosen Honeywell’s Ecofining technology for converting used cooking oil into renewable jet fuel. The project is claimed to be the first commercial scale sustainable aviation fuel project in Japan.

With an aim to build on its existing research co-operations with leading universities in China, Clariant has sponsored the National Catalysis Achievement Award till 2025 at the National Congress on Catalysis of China. This year, the award for outstanding R&D achievement in the catalysis field in China was received by Youchang Xie, Professor of Physical Chemistry at Beijing’s Peking University.

BASF and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) have collaborated under a public-funded research project to design a formulation and coating model for multilayered battery coatings as multilayered battery anodes exhibit higher energy density and significantly improve production efficiency.

Under a MOU signed between BASF and Sanyo Chemical, both the companies will team up to create advanced polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) to produce sustainable products. The innovative new products will have world-wide market access through the two companies' global footprint, with the MOU allowing both the firms to leverage on production networks for PUDs.
