Topsoe will lead the Frontfuel project which intends to produce highly efficient sustainable aviation fuel from carbon dioxide, water and renewable energy. The Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program has granted a fund of 3.9 million dollars for the project.

With the establishment of the 50:50 joint venture, Sasol and Topsoe aim to develop, build, own, and operate sustainable aviation fuel plants as well as market sustainable aviation fuels on a global scale.

Sasol and Topsoe have entered into a single license agreement for Arcadia’s Vordingborg efuels plant. The first commercial efuels plant in Denmark is expected to produce approx. 100 million litres per year of efuels.

Topsoe’s new facility in Denmark will manufacture electrolyzers in order to produce green hydrogen. The factory is expected to have an initial 500 MW manufacturing capacity and will be operational by 2025.

With a production of 1 billion cubic feet of hydrogen per day, Exxonmobil’s facility in Baytown, Texas, USA is expected to be the world’s largest low carbon hydrogen plant. The project will make use of Topsoe’s Syncor hydrogen technology to produce hydrogen as well as capture and store more than 98 % of its associated CO2 emissions.

Mintal Hydrogen has selected Topsoe to supply technology for the first dynamic green ammonia plant in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China. The unit is expected to produce 390,000 tons green ammonia annually.

Under a global licensing agreement signed between Topsoe and Steeper, both the parties will work together to introduce a complete waste-to-fuel solution. Steeper’s proprietary Hydrofaction technology and Topsoe’s unique technologies in renewable fuels and hydrogen production will be used for the development of the solution.

Topsoe and Fidelis have formed a global alliance for technology used in the production of carbon neutral hydrogen. Topsoe’s hydrogen process portfolio along with Fidelis’ H2 technology will be paired in the alliance in order to reduce the lifecycle carbon emissions involved in hydrogen production.
