Haldor Topsoe and Comprimo have announced a global strategic alliance to jointly license the Topclaus sulfur removal and recovery solution. The technology will help customers achieve more than 99.9 % SRE by integrating Topsoe’s proprietary WSA process and Comprimo’s Claus process.

A Saipem and Clough joint venture has entered into an agreement with Perdaman Industries for developing a urea plant in Western Australia. With an expected capacity of producing 2.14 million tons of urea annually, the plant will make use of Saipem’s Snamprogetti Urea technology.

Topsoe has plans to build the world’s largest industrial scale electrolyzer production plant in Herning, Denmark. With an annual capacity of 500 MW along with a scalability up to 5 GW, the project is claimed to be one of the first of its kind.

An article in the Science magazine describes a new and compact approach to producing syngas. The technology from Haldor Topsoe is based on steam methane reforming and could have a significant positive effect on CO2 emissions globally.

Cresta Funds Management (Cresta) has selected Topsoe’s Hydroflex solution for revamping the Braya Renewable Fuels refinery in Newfoundland, Canada. The project’s hydrocracker and diesel hydrotreater will be revamped to produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.

Danish company Topsoe announced that it is closing down its operations in Russia and Belarus including its office in Moscow. The close down follows the company’s earlier decision to make a full stop for all new business activity in Russia and Belarus.

Under a joint declaration signed between the European Commission, Hydrogen Europe and 20 European firms, all the parties will work together to increase electrolyzer manufacturing capacity in order to boost renewable hydrogen production in the region. For this, Europe’s leading electrolyzer manufacturers aim to increase their manufacturing capacity to 17.5 GW by 2025.

Refuel Energy has selected Haldor Topsoe’s proprietary Hydroflex and H2bridge technologies for its new renewable fuel plant – Refuel YYZ. Located in Canada, the plant is expected to produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.

Modular Plant Solutions (MPS) is collaborating with Arbor Renewable Gas to establish an industrial scale green gasoline plant in Texas, USA. MPS’ Methanol-To-Go modular plant will be vital to the project which is expected to convert waste wood biomass into renewable gasoline.

A joint venture has been established by Braskem and Sojitz to produce and commercialize bio-based mono-ethylene glycol which has the capacity to meet the growing market demand for sustainable and renewable products.
