Asahi Kasei has divested its lead battery separator business – Daramic to Kingswood Capital Management. The Daramic business transfer closed on December 1, 2025.

Japan’s chemical groups Asahi Kasei, Mitsui Chemicals and Mitsubishi Chemical are consolidating their ethylene production in western Japan: the Amec site in Mizushima will be closed by 2030, with capacities relocated to Osaka. At the same time, a bioethanol-based Revolefin plant is expected to advance the decarbonisation of basic chemicals.

With an aim to strengthen its position as a key supplier for the global semiconductor industry, Asahi Kasei has plans to double its production capacity for photosensitive polyimide by 2030.

Asahi Kasei has plans to supply its Aqualyzer-C3 containerized 1 MW-class alkaline-water electrolyzer to Central Finland Mobility Foundation’s hydrogen project in Finland. The full operation is expected to commence in the first half of 2026.
