With growing product demand in biogas and hydrogen recovery applications as well as customer needs for the use of nitrogen for the aerospace industry and cleaner fuels for the marine industry, Air Products Membrane Solutions held a groundbreaking event for expanding its Missouri Manufacturing and Logistics Center in Missouri.

BASF has plans to sell its Styrodur business to Bachl which is claimed to be one of the leading manufacturers of insulation materials in Germany, an experienced XPS producer and a long-standing Styrodur distribution partner of BASF.

Exxonmobil has plans to expand its advanced recycling operations at its sites in Baytown and Beaumont, Texas by investing a hefty amount of 200+ million dollars. The investment is expected to add 350 million pounds per year of advanced recycling capacity at both the sites, bringing Exxonmobil’s total capacity to 500 million pounds annually.

Adnoc has entered into a 15-year Sales and Purchase Agreement with Petronas for supplying 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG. The agreement converts a previous Heads of Agreement between Adnoc and Petronas into a definitive agreement.

Claimed to be the largest of its kind in the world, the blue ammonia plant is expected to produce 1.2 million tons per year. Qatar Energy will provide the new plant with more than 35 megawatts of electricity from the solar power plant currently being built in Mesaieed Industrial City, thereby producing blue ammonia.

Linde Gaz Polska has entered into an agreement with Arcelormittal Poland to develop a hydrogen production plant on the site of its Krakow branch in Poland. The new project is expected to supply process gas to two galvanizing plants.

Clariant’s Envicat N2O-S nitrous abatement catalyst has been installed at Sichuan Lutianhua's nitric acid plant and is expected to reduce annual emissions by 275 kilotons of CO2eq. Sichuan Lutianhua received a free load of Envicat N2O-S catalyst for nitrous oxide abatement as it was a winner of Clariant’s Climate Campaign.

The 1 MW-class hydrogen combined heat and power plant by the Innio Group has been awarded the Cogen Europe Recognition Award 2024 under the Technology and Innovation category. The project can convert stored hydrogen from surplus renewable production in summer back into electricity and heat for the wintertime.

Clariant’s Megamax catalyst has been selected for China’s biomass gasification-to-green methanol project. The project is expected to use a combination of farm waste and wind power to produce up to 250,000 tons per annum of green methanol.
